I'm a musician with many, many interests and an incredibly short attention span. I hop around from one thing to another like wildfire. And to think, I was going to be a doctor at one point. Ha! Actually, I'm probably better off just as I am: going to my little job everyday at a pathology company, singing with the awesome chorus I'm a member of, eating far too much sweet stuff, watching sports (esp. hockey and baseball) and driving my poor partner crazy in doing so, hiking whenever I get the bug, and reading all kinds of weird stuff.
A lot of people probably think I'm a freak because I go barefoot as often as I can. I just love to not have shoes on my feet! Yes, even when it's cold and/or raining. When I go into restaurants, I'll usually have a pair of flip-flops on, but once I'm seated, I kick them off and slide them under the chair. I know it's not the kind of thing you see every day, but what surprises me is how many people seem to be shocked by a barefoot person. Personally, I think some of the shit the current administration has done is a lot more shocking than the sight of a barefoot man or woman, but that's just me.
Foreign languages are high on my list of nerdy things to study. Lately, I've been studying a lot of Japanese, trying to learn the 2000 or so kanji that they use (I think I've got the kana under my belt).
I also spend perhaps too much time contemplating human behavior, and why people are so mean/cruel to one another. Especially when driving. The nastiness that I see on the road is just shocking. Maybe I'm too sensitive, but when it comes to driving, I think people need to take a little more responsibility for their actions and behavior.
There's a whole lot I could blabber on about, but I'll save that for the journal. Just write to me and strike up a conversation -- I'm a very easy-going person, and I love to engage people.
